(CBS4) - A jury in Logan county has convicted a 63-year-old Julesburg man of all criminal counts after the man claimed he was the victim of police brutality.According to state court records, the jury reached its verdict April 25 finding Robert Steven Dye guilty of resisting arrest, obstructing a peace officer and a traffic violation. A Sedgwick County sheriff’s deputy, Darin Poole, pulled Dye over July 4, 2011 on a routine traffic stop. But the traffic stop turned violent with Dye asserting that Deputy Poole kicked him, elbowed him in the face, beat him and caused him numerous injuries that left him hospitalized. “I thought I was going to die,” Dye told the Denver Post. The incident led to an unsuccessful attempt to recall Sedgwick County Sheriff Randy Peck.Deputy Poole resigned from the sheriff’s department five months after the incident. But a one-day jury trial for Dye led to guilty verdicts on all counts.
